About the legal stuff, you only need to know that you can use the free fonts for whatever you want, commercial or not commercial. If you use a free font there´s absolutly no problem, but i would like to see a sample of the work, just for fun.

On the other side, you cannot sell, redistribute, modify the fonts, put them on a cd with a commercial interest, or put in on your web site for downloading without the permission of the autor.

If you bought  some money fonts obviously  you can give them a comercial or non comercial use, but even so that´s doesn´t mean that you "own" the font literally. You have the license for the use of them but nothing else: you cannot sell this fonts, modify them, put them on a cd with a commercial interest, or put in on your web site for downloading without the permission of the autor.
